I am feeling stressed/upset/overwhelmed, who can I talk to?
There are many people and services who you can talk to if you are feeling upset or need additional support. Aisling and Laura, your Sabbats, are on hand to meet and chat to students by phone, Zoom calls or, when guidelines permit, on campus. For an online appointment with either Aisling or Laura, click on their name, select a time that suits you and fill out the form online.
The MIC Counselling services on both campuses are available to students and have mapped out the best way to access supports for students who are not on campus. Read here for information on phone or teams counselling sessions, same day check-in sessions and other supports available outside these services. The College Chaplains and Chaplaincy service are also available remotely for students, see here for contact details. Both services provide support for students emotionally, for issues such as emotional distress, bereavements and stress, in a confidential and approachable way. If you need these supports, or any other college supports, full details on how to make contact can be found on the MIC website or through MISU's support portal here.
Outside of MIC, there are many different dedicated services on hand if you need help – for information on online mental health services and supports during Covid-19, read more on the HSE services portal
