What will Semester 2 look like?
For Semester 2, learning and student activities will remain primarily online. However, we are mindful that the pandemic is a constantly evolving situation and if there are any changes because of restrictions changing or easing, MISU will work with MIC to communicate any new developments to students.

How can I keep up with Academic changes?
It is important to keep an eye on your MIC Student Email as all updates and information will be communicated there.
Visit the MIC Covid-19 Information Hub for more information and updates. MISU will also let students know if there are any further developments.
Are there study spaces available?
With the current Level 5 Covid-19 restrictions, study spaces are not currently available. Once restrictions ease, MISU will work with MIC on the availability of study spaces.
Have there been changes to college services and supports?
Yes, the way services and supports are operating is different at the moment and a lot of offices and supports are working remotely or online. Dr. Paul O'Brien from the Academic Learning Centre facilitated an Open Zoom meeting for Academic Queries on Tuesday 10th November 2020, where he answered questions, shared advice and resources. The additional academic writing resources he recommended can be viewed here.

Yes, via the Academic Learning Centres on each campus.

When the campus re-opens, will I be able to travel to campus as a commuting student?
As the country is currently in Level 5 restrictions, learning, supports and services remain predominantly online. Level 5 restrictions mean that you are asked to stay at home except for travel for work, education or other essential purposes, or for exercising within 5km of home. Further information on the Level 5 restrictions can be found here.
If you do need to come to campus, it must be for an essential reason such as attending an on-campus lecture, tutorial or accessing the Library. All students have been notified by the college as to whether or not aspects of their course have an on campus element. Currently, the Libraries are operating Click & Collect services with allocated time slots for collection. Further information on Library services is available here .
There's advice for anyone travelling using public transport is available here – remember to follow the government guidelines of social distancing and always wear a mask on public transport.
If you are in doubt about whether or not you should travel to campus, you can check with someone in MISU or the college before coming to campus.
Where can I find forms for rechecks, appealing grades and viewing scripts?
All of the forms are available on the Student Academic Administration (SAA) section of the MIC Student Portal. You will need to enter your Network Log-In details.

Will there be seated exams this year?
Semester 2 will likely follow the same means of assessment and feedback as Semester 1 but we strongly advise you to check with your Module Co-Ordinator for more details.
