Mary I Students’ Union (MISU) has donated €2,000, raised during their 2023 Charity Weeks, to two charities; Mid West Simon Community and the Irish Cancer Society, with each charity receiving a donation of €1,000.
Speaking about the donation, MISU President Aoife Gleeson said: “I would like to sincerely thank each and every student on both our Limerick and Thurles campus for their generous contributions. Without you, this would not have been possible. Every event you attended and fundraising activity you took part in contributed to this donation. Given the current cost of living crisis, it is reassuring to see that students sense of giving is still alive and strong. I would also like to thank our part-time officers for all their work in ensuring the events ran smoothly.”
MISU would also like to extend a special thanks to our sponsors; Club Vitae at the Maldron, Spin South West, Molly’s Late Bar, Goya Bowls, Amber Nightclub Limerick, 30 Seconds Board Game and for their generous prizes; the fantastic team at Dolans and Hear it Sound & Lighting for making the events possible, and to the Buildings & Estates team at MIC for their operational support. Thank you!
