• Students can download a copy of the I Grade application form on the MIC Student Portal at the following link:

6. How can students apply for an I Grade?
• The deadline for applications for I Grades for the Autumn Semester has now passed. The closing date was the 6th January and the I-Grade Committee meeting took place on the 8th.
• Any student approved for an I-Grade at this meeting will see their I Grade listed when they access their results.
7. Are I Grades the same as repeat exams?
• The difference between I Grades and Repeat exams is that I-Grades are not capped, whereas repeat examination during the Annual Repeats are capped (i.e. students can only achieve a maximum of a C3 in the module).
• Please note that there is no repeat fee in respect of clearing an I-Grade, whereas there is a repeat fee of €172 per module in the case of a repeat examination.
• If a student is awarded an I Grade, the student must liaise directly with the lecturer in charge of the module to find out what is required to clear their I-Grade. I-Grades must be cleared by the end of the Annual Repeat Examination Period of the Academic Year in which they are granted.
• Final Year Undergraduate Students with Autumn Semester I Grades may clear them at the May Examination Period or at Annual Repeat time in August, they have a choice in that regard. This applies to Final Year Undergraduate Students only.
