MIC Postgrads are based on the John Henry Newman campus (located across the road from the Foundation Building and main gates). Formally known as the Mount, this part of the campus has been refurbished and opened as a fit-for-purpose research facility, bringing all postgraduate activities together into one space and significantly advancing provision in this area. Here, postgrad students can work away from the hustle and bustle of the main campus. There are dedicated study spaces and areas to have meetings and presentations.
Following the October MISU By-Election, Christine Ratzlaff was elected as the Postgraduate Officer for the Academic year 2020/21. Christine is a vital part of the Executive Committee as she highlights the voice of her fellow Postgraduate students to the Executive Committee and Union Council. The role involves guiding and supporting fellow Post Grad students with any issues, concerns or queries regarding their student life and working closely with the Sabbats, Aisling and Laura, to represent Postgrads at MISU and MIC meetings. She sits on college committees An Bord AcadĂșil (Academic Council) and the RGSO as the Postgraduate representative.
The Postgraduate Officer also organises events and gatherings for postgrad students, including monthly Lunchtime Presentations which offer a great opportunity to develop presentation skills and gain feedback and insight from your peers.
