MIC Postgrads are based on the John Henry Newman campus (located across the road from the Foundation Building and main gates). Formally known as the Mount, this part of the campus has been refurbished and opened as a fit-for-purpose research facility, bringing all postgraduate activities together into one space and significantly advancing provision in this area. Here, postgrad students can work away from the hustle and bustle of the main campus. There are dedicated study spaces and areas to have meetings and presentations.

There was no candidate in last year's elections for the MISU Postgraduate Officer for the 2020/21 Academic Year. A by-election will be held in September 2020 and will be advertised across all MISU social media, as well as this website. The Postgraduate Officership is a vital part of the Executive Committee as they highlight the voice of their fellow Postgraduate students to the Executive Committee and Union Council. Their role is to guide and support their fellow Post Grad students with any issues, concerns or queries regarding their student life. They sit on college committees An Bord Acadúil (Academic Council) and the RGSO as the Postgraduate representative.

The Postgraduate Officer also organises events and gatherings for postgrad students, including monthly Lunchtime Presentations which offer a great opportunity to develop presentation skills and gain feedback and insight from your peers.

You can run as an individual or with a friend if you would like to work together in the officership.  If you are interested in becoming MISU Postgraduate Officer, email the MISU President on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
