Clubs & Societies
Clubs & Societies are a huge part of college life and there is a wide range of them in Mary I, all of which are open to any MIC student. They provide a range of activities such as trips away, tournaments, music sessions, musicals, workshops, fundraisers, table quizzes and social nights.
How do they work?
Clubs & Socs are run by the students with the support of MISU (who provide advice and help with administration and finance). They provide a great platform for students to get involved in something they are passionate about. Your Clubs and Sports officers this year are Tom and Seán and your Societies officers are Mark and Chloe.
Clubs & Socs Days
Clubs & Socs days take place at the beginning of each semester and give students a chance to sign up to a Club or Society. Students can find out what different Clubs & Societies do and to speak to current members of a Club or Society. This allows students gain an insight into the Club or Society and is a great way to meet new people. Usually there is free grub and entertainment during Clubs & Socs Days and it’s a great display of what Clubs & Socs have to offer.
If you wish to become a member of a particular Club or Society you can sign up immediately on the day. The membership fee for a Club or Society is just €2 - an incredible price for what you get out of a Club or Society. If you think there is something missing feel free to call down to the SU and we’ll let you know how to set up your very own Society.

You can also join a Club or Society at any point during the year just find a meeting and head on in!
Clubs and Socs Council
This Council meets every two weeks and acts as a forum to give advice to Clubs & Societies. It is a great platform to organise joint events and bounce ideas off other Clubs & Societies.
