Kilminchy School House is a Sessional / Full Day- Care service in Portlaoise.

We are currently seeking interested Early Years Educators who may be seeking Part- time work this Summer with a view to a Full time hours by September. A minimum qualification of Level 7-8 in Early Year’s Education with at least two-three years’ experience is preferable but not essential.

We are also seeking Relief staff & Part-time staff/ someone to cover Maternity leave ASAP, once Garda Vetting is complete. Reduced hours over Summer Months pending the needs of the business.

Candidates must have a true interest, sense of humour and energy in working with Toddlers/Pre-schoolers in a busy environment, and who also have the ability to work under pressure and is creative & fun, uses their initiative, is a team player and is flexible to changing routines.

_____Roles and Responsibilities:________________________________________________

Ability to work in collaboration and communication within a team of teachers.Assess and plan for children’s learning based on their interests and needs.

Excellent administrative skills to document learning and maintain all relevant records.

Adhering to company policies, procedures and operational practices at all times.
Ensuring positive working relationships are developed and maintained with children, staff, parents and carers.
Awareness of Early Years Regulations, relevant legislation and policies.
Commitment to developing an inclusive setting within the context of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion guidelines 2015.
Developing practice within the guidelines of the Aistear-Siolta Practice guide.
Undertake personal responsibility to comply with the services Child protection policy.
Willingness to carry out other duties consistent with the role of an Early Years Educator as required form time to time by the Manager/Proprietor.
The successful candidate must have:

Preferably a Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education at Level 7 / 8 from a recognised body
Relevant criteria for ECCE Scheme (i.e. minimum 3 years experience in a childcare setting) but not essential

Knowledge of working with the Aistear-Siolta practice guide Curriculum Framework.
If you have an interest in working with Children with Additional Needs or with 1- under 3's - please speicify.
Good communication skills - Fluency in both spoken & written English
